Reflections on Women Achiever Awards : Leadership with Humility
The other day, I had the pleasure of stepping away from my regular routine to attend a significant local event right here in Bengaluru. I received a Women Achiever Award, an acknowledgment that I am sincerely grateful for.
While the award itself is a wonderful personal milestone, the true significance of the morning was the environment curated by the organizers. They succeeded in bringing together a diverse, high-caliber peer group, creating a powerful ecosystem of accomplished individuals driving real transformation and demonstrating true women in leadership in North Bengaluru. It was a strong reminder that meaningful, real-world leadership and “A-level” players are often much closer to us than we realize.
Shortly after the event, I captured some immediate reflections and shared them with my network on LinkedIn. As we wrap up Women’s Month, I wanted to republish those thoughts here, along with some visual highlights and candid moments from a truly inspiring morning.

Celebrating Women in Leadership
Yesterday, I received a Women Achiever Award in North Bengaluru.
While the recognition is deeply appreciated, the real learning and the true value of the morning were in the room itself. The organizers brilliantly brought together a remarkable peer group from within our own neighborhood—female entrepreneurs, scientists, doctors, healthcare workers, teachers, and sportspersons who are driving real transformation in their respective fields. It was an opportunity to be in an ‘A-group’ among ‘A-players,’ where accomplished peers were recognizing other peers.
What stood out most, and truly resonated with me, was the absolute lack of posturing or display. Interactions with these highly achieved professionals felt as natural and grounded as a casual chat during a morning walk or a quick exchange at the supermarket. They carry their successes with a striking sense of humility and quiet confidence.
Off stage, they transition seamlessly into their everyday roles as doting parents, caring partners, and active community members. It perfectly brought to mind the exact balance portrayed by actress Vidya Balan in the film Mission Mangal—a rocket scientist at work, a woman in charge of the household at the same time. That effortless ability to move between worlds, without noise or self-importance, is what sets this group apart.
The initiative, led by the team anchored by the spouse of Karnataka’s Revenue Minister—herself a formidable leader—did something essential: it revealed and connected this incredible peer network that exists right within our own community.
As Women’s Month comes to a close, this felt like a necessary moment to reflect on both individual journeys and the collective strength around us.
